Race Details & Rules

Late Entry:

There are no late entry fees except on race day. This is to encourage people to sign up online before race day. Also please be aware that race day entries are not guaranteed a t-shirt, we will probably have enough but it will be first come first serve!

Distances:

1) 13.1 miles / 21 km - Semi-Skimmed
2) Full 26.2 mile Moo - Full Fat

The course is a point to point race for both sections, so there are no boring loops and the scenery is incredible.

Walkers / Runners:

Walkers are welcome in the 13.1 miles but for the 26.2 miles only runners will be allowed. For the full 26.2 Moo, there is a cut-off time of 6 hours.

Location:

Starting in Kilmacrenan town, just outside Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, Ireland, the route will be along the Lough Salt road to Downings. The finish will be in Downings just before the beach. A map and more details are on the picture gallery page.

€55 per person sharing Bed & Breakfast
€45 per person sharing room only
€30 single supplement

Race expo and race packet pick up will be at the Hotel from 12noon - 6pm on Saturday 24th September.

Bus:

Bus transport on race day is included in your entry fee. Optional bus transport available to the start line from the official hotel in Letterkenny in the morning and also all afternoon from the finish line back to the start line if that's where you've parked. The bus will collect people in the morning from outside the offcial race hotel and drop them back there in the afternoon.

There are also prizes for 2nd and 3rd, for best fancy dress and for the fastest Corporate and Club Teams.

The Official Prize giving will be at the Official Race Hotel at 5pm on Sunday.

Race Rules:

All entrants MUST wear black and white clothing on race day.

Anyone at the starting line who is not wearing black and white may be disqualified at the discretion of the Race Director.

Other acceptable apparel includes horns, bells, black & white body paint and cow suits of any colour. Mooooo Any unsportsmanlike conduct will be dealt with by immediate disqualification.

Any littering along the course outside of the Milking station zones will mean disqualification - we hate litterbugs! All cows must stay on the left side of the road and let faster cows past on the right. Anyone consistently getting in the way of cows behind them will be beaten!

As a general principal we hate rules and being told what to do, but we want to have a safe and enjoyable event so the rules above must be abided by all entrants.

Race Packet pick-up:

Race packet pick up will be on Saturday the 24th at the official race hotel, in the town of Leterrkenny from 12pm - 6pm. This includes - Race t-shirt, race number, and goody bag. We will also have sports equipment and apparel etc for sale as well.
Entrants can also register and collect their numbers on race day in Kilmacrenan if necessary from 9am - 9.45am.

Milking Stations:

We've experimented with a number of milking station setups but there will be at least 3 manned milking stations along each 13.1 mile section of the course and one at the finish line. Sports drinks will be available as well as some basic first aid and radios/phones for calling for help.

Division Challenge:

We will have a team challenge whereby the fastest 3 people in each division will have their times averaged. Fastest teams will win a Trophy
